For any of you considering this change in your life, you must realize this: Step-parenting is simply the most thankless task of your life. And I'm not talking about taking wee little ones under your satanic wing. Trust me, the older they are, the trickier they get. In one fell swoop I acquired 5 (FIVE) step "kids" when I married their father. And it's the 20-somethings who are crazy enough and charged enough to make senseless, continual drama of the whole thing. The most adaptable of the group? Nope, not the young-30-somethings, the 14 year old. And here I Stop. I don't think I'll live long enough to see any of this change.
